Vacation Bible School
Children and Youth
At Parkway Christian Church, we are ready and excited to help your child or teen grow in their faith in Jesus Christ. We offer a wide variety of ministries designed to reach your child on their level.
Journey Land and Jr. Journey Land
This is our Sunday morning program for children from 6 years old through third grade, and it takes place during our worship service. After hearing a children's message in worship, children are excused to our Children's Worship Center for age-appropriate lessons. We currently use the curriculum from Group Publishing called Buzz. In this curriculum, kids help lead the lessons, choose what comes next, and play is a big part of the lessons. Come join us for the fun!
Our 4th and 5th-grade students participate in the Journey every Sunday morning during
our 10:00 worship service. We are studying with the Grapple Curriculum, a program
written with the specific needs of preteens in mind. Here students will grapple with their
faith as they begin to grow into their own understandings.
Plant yourself at "The Park" and grow in faith
The Park is a special time of worship and study for middle and high school-aged youth. Following the Children’s Moment during the 10:00 service, youth gather in the School for a fun and interactive service.
The Park Middle and High School Youth Group
Our youth group (6th grade-12th graders) meets each Wednesday evening from 6:30 - 8:00 pm. When we gather, we don’t expect anyone to be perfect or to have all the answers. Instead, we expect and hope for engaging dialogue, open minds, and support and respect for one another. We also throw in other awesome experiences like lock-ins, mission trips, and youth-led worship services, all of this is done in our newly renovated Youth Room.
Our younger students, ages 7-12, are eligible to serve as Acolytes. An Acolyte has one of two jobs during a Parkway worship service: carrying in the light of Christ, or bringing the Word forward and reading our first bible lesson for the morning. Trainings are held approximately two times per year.
We offer Pastor’s Class to 4th and 5th grade students in preparation for Baptism. This is a special class, typically held in the spring, when students are encouraged and led through the thought and belief process of baptism. It includes learning about the meaning of baptism, the meaning of the Lord’s Supper, and the meaning and role of God and Jesus Christ in their lives.
We also have various large events for children, including an Easter Egg Hunt, a Fall Family Fun Day, Vacation Bible School, and many other fun and meaningful activities.
