A Glimpse of Parkway Christian Church and Schools in Davie

Here at Parkway we welcome all who seek God’s will for their lives as well as those who truly wish to participate in God-centered worship and activities.
For over 50 years, Parkway Christian Church has provided a place where people can journey along the path of faithfulness, while at the same time educate their children. Soon after the church opened its doors for worship in 1958, it also opened classroom doors to welcome in preschool-aged children. In early 1996 we relocated to West Broward County to the Town of Davie where the church and preschool continued to grow.
And as we grew, our mission became even more apparent. In 1998 our commitment to providing quality faith-based education expanded to include an elementary school. The faithfulness of our congregation and pledges made during that fund-raising campaign opened our first Kindergarten in the fall of 2000. Yet still we grew. It was not long before the leadership of the church and school perceived a need in the community for a Middle School.
Today our church is a recognized leader in our faith community and we are proud that our schools are independently accredited. Another source of pride is our accelerated curriculum with its emphasis on Christian values. With weekly chapels and joint opportunities for worship, fellowship and missions are ensuring that our entire campus focuses on what is truly important. We believe that this gives us all the tools to make a difference in our community.
My friend…here you will find the story of a church and its associated schools that has a burden, born from an understanding of a divine call, to grow into the future. But this call isn’t new. Parkway Christian Church and Schools has a proven half century of providing worship, mission and service opportunities, along with a well-rounded Christian Education for young people and their families. Today we are poised to grow into the future…and I am excited to be the lead minister at such a time as this.
In the sixth chapter of the book of Isaiah, the prophet paints a vivid and awesome portrait of heaven. Overwhelmed by the power of God that emanated from His holy temple, the prophet fell to his knees in wonder. And the sound he heard was a repeating mantra straight from the mouth of God, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” To that question the prophet humbly offered “Here I am, Lord, send me.” (Isaiah 6:8) Parkway Christian Church has considered the same question and has answered as Isaiah did long ago.
Every day at Parkway, throngs of children and those who care for them gather to learn more about their relationship with God, God’s world, and our place in it. These young people are exposed to a rigorous academic program, presented in a loving family atmosphere that unmistakably speaks to the witness of Christ. The same is true for the congregation that worships here. Life lessons, which challenge and inspire all to go into the world and make it a better place, form the foundation of the church’s entire ministry. Parkway has truly answered the call to send forth into the world those who want to make it a better place
